With Realme 8s 5G, Realme has launched its new budget smartphone called Realme 8i in India. This is the world’s first smartphone that comes with a MediaTek Helio G96 processor. The Realme 8i is priced at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB + 64GB base variant, whereas the higher-end 6GB + 128GB will cost Rs. 15,999 in India. Also, you can able up to Rs. 1000 discount by using HDFC and ICICI Cards.
The device will be available to buy in two color variants – Space Blue and Space Purple. You can buy the smartphone exclusively on Flipkart, Realme, and offline retail stores from 14th September 12:00 pm. Now let’s talk about the device’s specification.
Realme 8i Design
It is 8.9mm thick and weighs 194gm. This device has a polycarbonate back with a triple camera module with LED flash. Also, you get Realme branding on the bottom. If we talk about the front, then this phone has a typical Realme style punch-hole selfie camera at the top left side and a 6.59″ display which we will talk about that later.
We also see a fingerprint sensor with the power button on the right side of the device and volume rocker key and Sim card tray on the left side. At the bottom, it features a 3.5mm audio jack, a primary microphone, USB Type-C for charging, and a speaker grill.
Realme 8i Display
Coming to the display, this smartphone features a 6.59-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a peak brightness of 600nits. This display supports a 120Hz refresh rate. You can use auto refresh-rate mode on this device. Realme has also been used this display in their previous phones. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Realme 8i Specifications
This is the world’s first smartphone that comes with a MediaTek Helio G96 Octa-core processor. This processor is based on 12nm architecture. This processor clocked at 2x 2.05 GHz – Cortex-A76 and 6x 2 GHz – Cortex-A55. It has Mali G57 MC2 GPU with 2 Execution units compared to Helio G96’s 4 Execution Units which is a downgraded version from old G95.
You also have up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage onboard and paired with a dedicated microSD card slot. This device also supports Dynamic RAM Expansion where you can use 5GB Internal storage to expand the RAM. It means you can expand your RAM to 9GB for 4GB +64GB and 11GB for 6GB + 128GB. This feature helps with multitasking. This device runs on Android 11 on top of Realme UI 2.0 out of the box.
Realme 8i Camera
Coming to Cameras, this device features a triple camera setup on the back with LED Flash. The camera Realme used on the device is a 50-megapixel f/1.8, 26mm (wide) camera with a 2-megapixel B&W Portrait camera with 2-megapixel, f/2.4, (macro) camera.
