ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition graphics card

Asus and Noctua have officially partnered to release the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua edition graphics card. This Graphics card featuring two high-performance Noctua NF-A12x25 120mm fans with the famous beige-and-brown color scheme.

Noctua fans are just a safe choice in regards to noise and performance. They are well known to be quiet, high quality, and high performance. Asus says the card will reach just 60 degrees Celcius in optimal conditions, with very low noise levels.

In the official announcement, Ken Chien from Asus says the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition is geared toward noise-conscious enthusiasts, desiring the maximum amount of cooling possible per decibel of noise emitted. And it comes in a package that can be matched with other Noctua components in a DIY PC.

Coming to the Noctua Edition Graphics Card, this card comes with Noctua NF-A12x25 120mm fans with a custom-designed heatsink that makes the card four slots wide. The fans, shroud, and backplate feature Noctua’s signature unique brown and beige colour scheme. Some people like this colour and some people don’t. But there is no RGB lighting on this card.

The two Noctua NF-A12x25 120mm fans integrate a low-resonance Sterrox® liquid-crystal polymer (LCP) fan impeller, metal-reinforced motor hub, stabilized bearings, and custom low-noise PWM controller to deliver the performance you can rely on day in, day out.

With the help of these fans and a custom-designed heatsink, Asus claims that this card will reach just 60 degrees Celcius in optimal conditions, with very low noise levels. Also, Noctua claims this card is 15dBA quieter at “medium” fan speeds and 9dbA quieter at maximum fan speeds. Apart from that, The card also features Asus 0dB mode that turns the fans off when the GPU temperature goes below 50°C.

According to Asus performance tests, the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua edition cooling power is pretty good. Asus tests both the RTX 3070 Noctua Edition, as well as its standard RTX 3070 in both temperatures and fan noise.

The standard RTX 3070 gives 64°C temperature and 18.3dB(A) noise at 1300 RPM, where the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition gives 60°C temperature and 12.6dB(A) noise at only 900 RPM. Which is never seen before.

In the medium fan speed test, the standard RTX 3070 gives 53°C temperature and 36.8dB(A) noise at 2250 RPM. Where the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition gives 53°C temperature and 21.1dB(A) noise at only 1350 RPM.

While at higher fan speeds, The standard RTX 3070 gives 51°C temperature and 42.2dB(A) noise at 3200 RPM. Where the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition gives 51°C temperature and 33.3dB(A) noise at only 2000 RPM.

If Asus’s numbers are to be believed, then the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition is definitely the best performing RTX 3070 card we’ve ever seen, and one of the best-cooled graphics cards of all time.
